Hi friends,
I wanted to create a shortcut guide for The Prompted Memoir so you could go through each prompt seamlessly. I created these 52 prompts to help you write about your life and potentially craft a book from this material. You do not have to be a writer to do these prompts; you can be a curious, healing human who wants to understand more about their story.
Here is what I recommend:
Schedule a 1-2 hour block of time each week to work on a prompt
Have a secure and organized place where you are writing this material. I personally love Google Docs, but whatever floats your boat. Be sure to title the document. Number and title each prompt/ chapter. Save frequently and save in other places to ensure it is backed up. :)
Write one prompt a week. If you are feeling feisty and want to go quickly, you can always do more than one per week.
Choose what writing style you want to pursue in this. You could write this memoir as poetry or lyrical storytelling from each prompt or write each prompt as a personal essay. Whichever feels inspiring to you.
When you finish your prompted memoir, feel free to go back through it, rearrange chapters as you see fit, and self-edit as you re-read.
If you would like an edit on your prompted memoir, I would be honored to support your process and help you refine this into the book you long for it to be. You can contact me at info@yourbookyear.com for more information on how I can support you.
