I thought it would be super appropriate since Halloween is here to invite us to write a scary story. Yes, a scary story. Maybe you have never written one in your life and that’s totally okay, but now it is the time to take the risk and try something new!
For this prompt, I want you to write a short story inspired by something scary. Need some ideas? Pick from a recurring dream you’ve had or a nightmare, a moment in your life where you felt most afraid, or even your biggest fear brought to life. Maybe you even mix them all together to create something super spooky. MWAAHHHH!
Here are some example ideas that came up for me:
A woman is stop in a perpetual state of falling. What caused it? How can she escape?
There is a killer on the loose and I’m trying to outrun him. How can I outwit him?
My therapist is stalking me. How did I find out? How will I detour her?
Have fun with this friends and try and write a complete short story that includes a main character (could be you), a big struggle, and a resolution.
Let me know how it goes!
